📘 Lesson 1 — What is a Perfect Tense?
A perfect tense connects a completed action with a particular time or another event. The three main forms are:

Form
I / We / You / They + have + V3
He / She / It + has + V3
Ravi has completed his homework.
Priya has visited Chennai many times.
They have finished the project.
Main uses
- Recent completed action: Arun has just arrived.
- Experience: Meena has visited Madurai.
- Past action with present result: Karthik has lost his key.
- Action in a period continuing up to now: Priya has read three books this month.
தமிழ்: கடந்த காலத்தில் நடந்த செயல் தற்போதைய நிலைக்கு தொடர்புடையதாக இருக்கும்போது Present Perfect பயன்படும்.
Samacheer-style clue: “so far”, “already”, “just”, “yet”, “ever”, “never”, “recently” போன்ற சொற்கள் Present Perfect-ஐ சுட்டிக்காட்டலாம்.

All subjects + had + V3
When Ravi reached the station, the train had left.
Priya had finished the work before the teacher arrived.
Use
Past Perfect shows that one past action happened before another past action.
- First event → Past Perfect
- Later event → Simple Past

Use
Future Perfect shows that an action will be completed before or by a specified future time.

- by tomorrow

- by the end of the year
